We are seeking a Senior Zebrafish Scientist with advanced experience in zebrafish or similar species assays, experimental design, data analysis, and communication. The role supports high-throughput behavioral assay techniques and cutting‑edge instrumentation, requiring leadership in workflow development.
Responsibilities- Design and execute zebrafish animal assays for compound screening.
- Conduct behavioral assays and effective concentration experiments using state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
- Collaborate with other researchers to propose novel research topics.
- Keep detailed records of laboratory operations and compile data in regular technical reports.
- Establish and maintain workflows, providing creative and technical leadership.
- All work is performed on‑site in Edgewood, MD, 5 days per week. Remote work is not authorized.
- Master’s degree with five years of experience or a doctoral degree with a background in Molecular Biology and Physiology.
- 3 years’ experience managing zebrafish populations.
- Hands‑on experience with drug screening or toxicological assessments, willing to work with toxic compounds of interest.
- Experience performing molecular biology and physiology experiments with zebrafish or similar animal species.
- Past experience delegating tasks within a research team to prioritize productivity.
- Demonstrated team leadership.
- Ability to design, plan, and execute experiments to understand behavioral effects of compounds of interest.
- Demonstrated technical/scientific leadership skills and a passion for problem‑solving.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work productively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Experience with transgenic zebrafish experiments.
- Experience mounting and staining zebrafish for microscopic examination.
Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer‑related requirements.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: $76,236.48 to $ (annualized USD). The range represents the standard pay for this role and is one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
