Job SummaryPerforms medical and clinical duties to assist providers in the Family Practice Center. Responsibilities include rooming patients, managing flow from front office to exam room through discharge, and assisting in radiology imaging and other medical services while ensuring quality care and patient safety.

Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and treatment.
- Prepare patients to be examined by the physician by measuring and recording BP, pulse, temperature, respirations, height, weight, general history, and current medication list; record data to facilitate diagnosis and/or physician exams.
- Perform routine lab tests (UA, strep screens, etc.) as ordered by physician.
- Perform EKGs, injections, auditory and visual screenings, spirometry, administer medications and record results as ordered by the physician.
- Document clinical findings and patient response to interventions; communicate test results to physicians.
- Support physician during exams and procedures by preparing the patient, setting up the room and instruments, and returning the room to the previous state.
- Manage daily inventory of exam rooms and work areas; report outdated or expired supplies; clean and disinfect exam rooms; report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Assist with referrals, outpatient testing, pre-certification and scheduling; participate in PI studies.
- In-office radiography: operate digital equipment, bucky tray, control panel, and wall unit; practice ALARA and patient shielding as necessary; maintain radiology skills/competency.
- Handle patient calls and inquiries for clinical staff; follow up on unresolved concerns with supervisor.
- Return patient calls/voicemails within one business day.
- Perform daily quality control checks and calibrations on equipment and participate in proficiency testing as appropriate; document calibration records.
- Registered by ARRT
- Licensed to practice in the state where work is performed
- Maintain full compliance with continuing education requirements for license and registration
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to organize time and tasks
- Demonstrated competency in routine radiography
- One year of experience performing x-rays in a physician's office, hospital, or occupational health center; relevant clinical experience in a related medical setting
