Responsibilities

The Stretch Specialist at the Eden Prairie Community Center assists in dynamic stretching and flexibility training. The Stretch Specialist leads clients one‑on‑one through a series of intentional stretches using hands‑on guidance. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:

• Provides stretch and flexibility training to a variety of clientele. Creates individualized stretch programs for clients based on their needs and goals. Ensures clients’ needs are met through personal recognition and by providing quality service. Monitors the well‑being of all clients throughout sessions.
• Assumes a leadership role as a professional in the area of fitness and wellness. Encourages clients to continue with exercises and make healthy choices.
• Communicates effectively with clients throughout sessions. Communicates effectively with supervisor and other team members. Ensures that a safe and healthy environment exists for stretching and exercising.
• Arrives well‑prepared for each session with ample time to set up and greet clients. Assists in the cleaning and general maintenance of fitness areas. Enforces all fitness facility policies, rules and regulations.

While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

• Stretching and Flexibility Coach or Neuromuscular Stretching certification (NASM, ACSM or equivalent) and First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required. Personal Trainer certification preferred.
• Experience performing neuromuscular stretching on a variety of clientele. Personal training experience preferred.
• Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre‑employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre‑employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work verification.
