The Maintenance Engineer assists with the operation, maintenance, service and repair of assigned equipment. The role includes participation in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest requests and work orders, and performing trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and other engineering tasks. A driving shuttle van may be required when necessary.

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
• Acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record).
• College or technical school coursework or relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting and HVAC systems.
• Demonstrated accuracy, meticulousness, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Knowledge of safety management principles and OSHA regulations.

• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs and perform preventive maintenance for guest rooms (vinyl repair, touch‑up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.).
• Perform preventive maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pool and hot tub.
• Conduct plumbing repairs, laundry equipment repair, and preventive maintenance on exhaust fans and supply units; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuums and other small equipment upon request.
• Immediately address alarms, determine exact location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to Front Desk.
• Access back‑of‑house areas and sensitive information, including hotel safe, master keys, guest rooms, storage/liquor room, and secured file cabinets.
• Interact with guests and colleagues, occasionally unsupervised.
• Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons.
• Maintain a high level of trust and responsibility.
• Represent the company with integrity, sound judgment, and good character.
• Perform other tasks or jobs assigned by supervisor or manager.
