Position SummaryBased in Eden Prairie, MN, the role is safety‑sensitive and involves performing essential heat‑treating duties under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.
Levels & ResponsibilitiesEntry Level – 0 to 24 months of heat‑treating experience. You will learn in the role with guidance from senior team members.
- Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat‑treating and related equipment as required and as written in procedures.
Mid‑Level – 2 to 3 years of experience. You should have a proven track record in heat‑treating and work independently while collaborating across teams.
- Operates, controls, and monitors heat‑treating equipment as required and as written in procedures.
Senior‑Level – 3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat‑treating. You will lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and make strategic contributions to the department.
- Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat‑treating equipment as required and as written in procedures.
- Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by the position.
- Responsible for the care and treatment of customers’ inventory, acting safely and responsibly to prevent loss or damage.
- Reports for work on time, follows directions, interacts effectively with co‑workers, understands and follows rules and procedures, and accepts constructive criticism.
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperature control, etc.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
- Must possess the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
