Operations Manager
MMC is looking for a On-Site Mechanical Project Manager to be based at a client site in the Rosemount, MN area! MMC's Project Managers differentiate themselves and MMC through excellent project execution. They own their personal development and create strong relationships with our customers. Their skill level allows them to be effective leaders and mentors for our team members.
Essential Tasks for a On-Site Mechanical Project Manager include:Leadership and Strategy
- Foster a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop service team members
- Oversee daily operations on-site to ensure optimal resource utilization and job execution
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations
- Implement effective scheduling and workflow systems.
- Manage the project management teams on-site
- Verify and validate project budgets
- Accountability for projects financial management
- Estimating projects for all trades (Plumbing, Pipe fitting, and Sheet metal)
- Proactively assist the MMC team with completing estimates
- Forecasting labor hours
- Scheduling labor
- Communicating and developing positive relationships with the Foremen and Crew
- Perform safety audits to ensure a safe work environment
- Communicate safety concerns with Foremen and Crew
- Proactively plan for a safe job site from beginning of the project to the end
- Own the relationship with the customer/owner/general contractor that they have established
- Actively identify and develop new business relationships
- Lead and participate in project proposal generation and presentation
- Apply a well-rounded mechanical system knowledge to a variety of projects
- Apply knowledge of building codes and standards to deliver value for customers
- Demonstrate leadership through continuous improvement of self and MMC processes
- Follow Project Management Process Map
- Deliver projects that meet or exceed project and company gross margin plan
- Mentor developing Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- 3-5+years of progressive project management experience in mechanical contracting specializing in plumbing, piping, and sheet metal
- Success building and maintaining client relationships
- A thorough understanding of construction and mechanical contractor industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities
- Experience directing/guiding others using innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
- Experience preparing estimates in plumbing, piping, and sheet metal projects
- Demonstrable success developing and maintaining customer relationships
- Solid skillset using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to gain proficiency in new software systems

- $105,000 to $135,000 plus Incentive
