Overview
Hightop Hospitality is seeking an hourly Venue Maintenance Specialist to join our growing events division. The Venue Maintenance Specialist will help execute day‑of event needs for Green Acres Barn – a historic barn wedding venue located in Eden Prairie, MN. This is a part‑time position averaging 10‑20 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Reports directly to the Venue Manager and the Facility Manager. Assisting them before, during and at the end of each event.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with set up of the venue and the property for all events.
Duties include:
Tear down of tables & chairs, moving furniture, setting up and breaking down the outdoor spaces. Each day’s duties may vary based on the demands of both the event and the facility. - Responsible for overall logistical and operational aspects of each event.
- Responsible for all facilities aspects of event functions and management of repairs during events.
- Tidy and maintain cleanliness of the property and building throughout the event.
- Circulate the grounds throughout the event and assist guests as needed.
- Tend to outdoor fireplace(s) during all events.
- Interact with vendors, guests & clients in a professional and respectful manner.
- Assists Venue Management Team with any event security needs.
- Shutdown property after each event following the closing checklist as provided by the venue manager and facilities manager.
- Works closely with Hightop Hospitality leadership & Venue Owners.
- Must have reliable transportation and a driver’s license.
- Ability to drive a forklift is a plus – training available.
- Basic maintenance skill preferred.
- Has great communication skills, is detail-oriented & highly organized.
- Has a customer service focused, proactive and positive attitude with staff, patrons & co-workers.
- Has the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes nights and weekends.
- While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly stand or walk and must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to interact effectively with catering staff, provide direction when needed and be a team player.
- Previous Customer Service experience is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and able to take initiative; increased ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Ability to recognize and respond to onsite emergencies.
