As the leader of Finance for Drives Americas, the holder will drive business performance whilst maintaining tight financial controls. They will be overall responsible for all financial matters including planning and analysis and accurate reporting to tight deadlines
Job Description SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Business PerformanceJoint ownership and responsibility for Drives Americas Business performance outcomes with the General Manager
Aligned with the Nidec Drives Global Business, work with the Drives Americas leadership team to create and execute a business strategy that will deliver the desired business objectives.
Actively participate in the Nidec business planning cycle of Strategy Review, Profit Review and Financial review creating action plans to deliver results.
Create quarterly Game Plans for the Drives Americas sub-Business Segment to achieve quarterly targets.
Drive an agenda of cost optimization and profit maximization in the Drives Americas business.
Create Financial, Commercial and Operational objectives within the Drives Americas sub-Business Segment, measure performance and drive accountability.
Present and participate in sub-business segment BPR reviews.
Financial Planning and AnalysisProvides leadership and guidance to the FP&A team to ensure timely, accurate, and relevant financial analysis and forecasting on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis to include:
Sales revenue and order forecasting
Margin and profit forecasting
Balance sheet and cash forecasting
Proactive use of forecasting analysis and business intelligence to drive business decisions.
Financial Reporting and ControlLead the financial reporting activity for Nidec Drives Americas sub-business segment ensuring:
Reporting is on time within required deadlines.
Compliance with IFRS and Nidec Accounting policies.
Financials are materially accurate and representative of real business performance.
Reported financial data is presented in a way that aids understanding of the business and decision making.
Ensure that statutory financial reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
Ensure that a robust financial controls infrastructure is in place across the business segment that will prevent and detect fraud and
Be compliant with Nidec Control procedures and policies.
Support and manage the Nidec Drives internal and external audit program including SOX audit activity.
Working with IT, ownership of the Drives Americas Financial ERP systems and BCP reporting tool to ensure that they are functionally operative meet the needs of the business.
Ensure that an efficient and accurate costing process is in place and maintained.
Balance sheet and Cash ManagementResponsibility for the Nidec Drives Americas balance sheet and cash performance.
Set and cascade targets for key TWC / CCC drivers – inventory, receivables and payables, aligned with Nidec Drives Global targets.
Develop and maintain a consistent and high functioning AR collections process.
Commercial FinanceProvide leadership. Guidance and support to the Sales organization on:
Contract review, negotiation and approval.
Credit limit appraisal and approval using a risk-based approach.
Team ManagementProvide leadership and guidance to your direct reports and wider Nidec Drives Finance team.
Encourage creative, transformational thinking combined with a winning (never give up) mindset.
Set objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance.
Encourage strong communication between the Finance, other parts of the Nidec Drives team
Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and procedures as appropriate.
AUTHORITY AND DECISION MAKINGThis role is a budget holder within the Nidec Drives Organization, and has wider authority to approve financial and other transactions across the sub-business segment in line with the DOA.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSTravel will be as required to meet business circumstances and objectives.
USA - regular travel
UK and Europe - occasional travel (once per year)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is required
CPA, CMA, and MBA is highly preferred.
12 - 15 years experience in finance/accounting positions
Minimum 5 years of experience interfacing with and advising executive level managers.
Thorough knowledge of cost management techniques, financial modeling, financial control, financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives.
Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Experience with and ability to effectively communicate within all levels of an organization, including executive leadership
