Overview
As a Product Design Engineer at Tricam Industries, you will work in a fast-paced environment as part of the Product Development team to develop new Gorilla® branded consumer products for leading retailers such as Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, and more. As part of the Product Development team, you will create product specifications and work with overseas engineering teams and global suppliers to transition product concepts to manufacturing.
You will work out of Tricam’s corporate office in Eden Prairie MN, located 20 minutes southwest of downtown Minneapolis.

Job Duties- Develop consumer products from concept to manufacturing following Tricam’s New Product Development process.
- Support Engineering team in generating CAD models, Engineer Drawings, Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Notices, and other product specifications.
- Support Sales and Marketing cross functional teams as a technical resource.
- Analyze and solve a variety of engineering problems through FEA, calculations, and design of experiments.
- Work as a technical resource to troubleshoot manufacturing problems with international suppliers.
- Support Research and Development projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience with new product development
- Ability to lift up to 50lb
- Domestic and International travel as needed (up to 10%)
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling software (Solidworks highly preferred)
- Proficiency with GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups
- Design knowledge in manufacturing processes including sheet metal, aluminum extrusion, plastic injection molding, welding, machining, and finishing processes
- Experience in consumer product design for US mass retailers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Open-minded, collaborative team player with experience initiating and driving projects to completion
- Quick learner with high level of ambition and drive
