Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Eden Prairie, MN. This role works primarily onsite and plays a key part in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. The primary focus of this position is managing high-volume accounts payable processes while supporting month-end close and other accounting functions in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

• Ensure accounts payable transactions are accurately posted to the proper general ledger accounts and accounting periods.
• Accurately match vendor invoices to material receipts, including price, quantity, and authorization.
• Enter expense invoices, capital expenditures (including CER coding), and payment requests with proper documentation and approvals.
• Review and record accrued expenses on a timely basis.
• Process weekly check runs and ensure vendor payments are made within agreed terms.
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries.
• Support year-end processing and new year payables setup.
• Maintain capital expense reports and accounting files to ensure audit readiness.
• Balance spreadsheets to general ledger accounts and maintain organized documentation.
• Assist the Controller with monthly close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting tasks.
• Support Accounts Receivable, prepaid expenses, and special projects as needed.
• Oversee ordering of office and mailroom supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This role involves a high volume of paperwork, invoices, and manual processing, requiring strong organization and attention to detail.

• 2–5 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment required.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, monthly close processes, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong financial aptitude with attention to accuracy and detail.
  
  Ability to follow established processes and continuously improve efficiency.
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset.

• Primarily onsite in Eden Prairie, MN.
• Typical business hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional extended hours during month-end or heavy workloads.
• Office environment; exposure to fragrances at times due to manufacturing operations.
• Primarily seated work with extended periods of keyboarding; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
