Location: Eden Prairie, MN (On-site role requiring daily presence in MN – candidates must be local to Minnesota or Western Wisconsin)
Compensation: $65,000–$75,000 per year
Position SummaryWe’re supporting a client in their search for a Staff Accountant to assist with core accounting and tax functions in a multi-entity environment. This role is primarily focused on general ledger accounting, month-end close, and sales and use tax compliance. It’s a strong fit for a detail-oriented accountant who thrives in a structured close process and enjoys working across multiple entities within a larger organization.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple entities
- Perform bank reconciliations and research discrepancies or variances
- Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Prepare and/or review sales and use tax filings across multiple states
- Ensure ongoing multi-state sales and use tax compliance and accurate reporting
- Research tax-related issues and assist with resolving notices or discrepancies
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable invoicing as needed
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records and supporting schedules
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting and reporting needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of sales and use tax filings
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and journal entries
- Experience working in a multi-entity and/or multi-state environment preferred
- Exposure to a large ERP system
