The Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association, Inc. (ECAHMAA) is a non-profit organization established in 1982 to support Southeast Asian refugees and empower Hmong-Americans in the Chippewa Valley. ECAHMAA specializes in providing culturally and linguistically tailored services to improve access to housing, healthcare, education, employment, and advocacy support. Funded through grants and contributions via partnerships, including the United Way of Greater Chippewa Valley, ECAHMAA is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive community while fostering social and economic self-sufficiency.
Community involvement through volunteering, donations, and financial support continues to be vital to its mission.
The Executive Director will serve as the strategic and operational leader of ECAHMAA, responsible for overseeing programs, services, staff, funding efforts, and partnerships to ensure alignment with the organization's mission. Key responsibilities include creating and executing organizational strategies, managing budgets and finances, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and representing the organization in the community. The Executive Director will also spearhead fundraising initiatives, evaluate program effectiveness, and drive innovation to expand support for the Hmong-American community.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Eau Claire, WI.

- Advisory to the Board
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- Leadership Experience – Preferred 5+ years nonprofit senior management
- Fundraising & Budgeting – Demonstrated donor/grant skills, financial oversight
- Staff & Program Management – Team Leadership, program planning, operational execution
- Community & Board Engagement – Strong public representation, cultural/community leadership
- Personal Qualities – Communication skills, integrity, DEI commitment, vision
- Ability to speak Hmong and some writing in Hmong
Compensation is based on level of education and work/life experiences.
HoursThis is a full-time salary position. The ability to work flexible hours is necessary with the majority of hours to be worked Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Duties may require working some nights and weekends to accommodate organizational needs. Travel is required once weekly to the Eau Claire office as well as to training and for professional development.
