Hey Students! Are you passionate about technology and eager to gain hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure? Become an Infrastructure Intern at Royal Credit Union! In this role, you’ll support our tech team, configure and maintain network systems, troubleshoot issues, and help keep our digital environment running smoothly.

All applicants must be located in the Chippewa Valley Area & include a resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying. If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 12 months and be enrolled at a university or technical college throughout the length of the internship. Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.

What You’ll Do:

The Infrastructure Intern provides technical support for Royal Credit Union under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager. This intern will configure and maintain network equipment, servers, virtual machines, and associated applications. In addition they will perform routine troubleshooting, support and maintenance tasks.

Our Commitment To You:

  • Compensation: $19.56‑21.91 per hour ( candidates with significant related experience may be higher )
Intern Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Provide technical support to team members via email, instant message, and phone, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining network equipment, servers, virtual machines, and related applications.
  • Perform system troubleshooting, configure user access rights, and manage mailbox and calendar permissions.
  • Support security efforts by reviewing and remediating scan recommendations and maintaining documentation of configurations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and deliver excellent customer service while embodying Royal’s core values.
What Needed for This Position:
  • Enrolled at a University or Technical College throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Network Specialist, Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and task execution.
What We’d Love To See:
  • Experience working in an Information Technology Support role supporting a Windows environment.
Work Schedule:
  • Working approximately 15‑17 hours per week during the school year and 30‑40 hours per week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite at Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI throughout the school year and during breaks.
