** POSITION****:
** A full-time university staff position is available in the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice beginning  January 26, 2026.  The working title for this assignment is Department Assistant with an official title of Department Assistant I.  This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period.  The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience.  

The Program Assistant provides administrative assistance to the Department Chair, working independently on administrative assignments, examining and balancing the departmental budget, assisting

**** THE UNIT**:
The Department of Political Science has twelve authorized faculty positions as well as occasional parttimeteaching staff. Eight of the faculty teach the Political Science discipline; five of the faculty teach the Criminal Justice discipline. The Department offers a liberal arts major and minor in Political Science, a comprehensive major in Legal Studies, a comprehensive major in World Politics, a Global Studies minor, a comprehensive major in Broadfield Social Studies, a major and minor in Political Science-Teaching, a comprehensive major in Criminal Justice, and has administrative responsibility for the Pre-Law preprofessional program.an
