The Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates for Fabrication & Drawing projects for construction as required by customer's documents, along with other internal and external support requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Preparation/evaluation of: BIM Fabrication packages, Material & Labor comparisons, Joint count conversions, Engineering model conversions, Material Take-Offs (MTO) as required

* Communicate estimate and scope of work to Sales staff

* Determine scope coverage and manage risk of scope gaps to Sales and Customer

* Coordination of projects with work center(s)/sales/customers to ensure project schedule milestones and deliverables are met.

* Quality Control functions in-line with current department standards.

* Utilize, review, and enforce the VDC division procedures and policies. Suggest updates as needed.

* Coordination, scheduling, and assignment of incoming Sales support requests.

* Assist Sales with presentation of VDC package quotes (as required).

* Assist in the training of others in the department.

* Assist other VDC departments (as required).

Qualifications

* GED diploma, Two-year Associates Degree, and/or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering related to Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

* Proven written and verbal communication abilities

* Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, & Navisworks software preferred.

* Knowledge of interpretating piping specification and mechanical piping drawings

* Knowledge of estimating software:
Onscreen Take-off, Auto Bid Est-MECH, Quote Soft, etc.
