Five Paraprofessional positions are available to support students in a specialized educational setting within the Kutztown, PA area. These contract roles offer a chance to work closely with elementary-level students requiring multiple disabilities support, primarily within autism behavioral classrooms.

Location:

Northwestern Lehigh School District - Weisenberg Elementary, Kutztown, PA

Work Schedule:

35 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM - 3:45 PM)
Assignment Duration: ASAP through June 12, 2026 (tentative, aligned with school calendar)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with multiple disabilities, focusing on behavioral interventions
  • Manage challenging behaviors such as hitting, spitting, biting, punching, throwing, and screaming
  • Support students who may elope from the classroom setting
  • Assist with toileting and diapering needs as necessary
  • Engage in lifting and physical support tasks as required
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a paraprofessional in an MDS/autism behavioral environment
  • Must live within 35 minutes of Kutztown, PA to ensure reliable commute
  • Ability to commit to a full 35-hour workweek schedule
  • Hold at least one of the following PA paraprofessional qualifications:

    • 48 college credits

    • Associate degree or higher

    • Child Development Associate (CDA) or PDE Credential of Competency
  • If not credentialed upon hire, must complete PDE's 7-module certification process and submit application within 60 days
  • Completion of all PA Department of Education clearances within 14 days of hire
Additional Information:
Candidates will undergo in-person interviews scheduled weekly on a first-come, first-served basis. Placement depends on timely completion of onboarding and clearance processes, with flexibility on work locations based on IU needs. Submissions must include a full name, city of residence, resume with highlights, and a supervisor reference specific to para roles.
