Middle School Science Teacher

Halifax County Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in science to students in grades 6–8. The successful candidate will create engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote scientific inquiry and curiosity, assess student learning, and maintain a positive classroom environment.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver science lessons aligned with the North Carolina Essential Standards.
• Implement inquiry-based and hands-on learning experiences for students.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and instructional materials.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
• Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related science field.
• Valid North Carolina Teaching License with Middle Grades Science endorsement (or eligibility to obtain).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

• Experience teaching middle school science.
• Ability to integrate technology and differentiated instruction into lessons.
