Salary: £50,000-£55,000
Role Purpose
Leads the delivery, maintenance, and optimisation of industrial and commercial refrigeration and cooling systems. Oversees field engineers, ensures technical excellence, and supports the design, installation, commissioning, and servicing of temperature‑control equipment across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and mentor refrigeration engineers, ensuring safe, high‑quality work on all projects.
Lead installation, commissioning, fault‑finding, and maintenance of refrigeration, process cooling, and temperature‑control systems.
Diagnose complex technical issues across chillers, adiabatic coolers, dry air coolers, cooling towers, and associated plant.
Provide technical guidance during project planning, site surveys, and system upgrades.
Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
Maintain accurate service records, compliance documentation, and asset reports.
Support emergency call‑outs and rapid‑response situations when required.
Promote best practice in F‑Gas compliance, health and safety, and environmental standards.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong technical expertise in refrigeration and industrial cooling systems.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate engineering teams.
Advanced fault‑finding and commissioning skills.
Understanding of control systems, pumps, pipework, and heat‑exchange equipment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
Confident communicator with clients and internal teams.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple jobs.
Experience and Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
F‑Gas Category 1 certification (essential).
Significant experience working on industrial or commercial refrigeration systems.
Experience with process cooling, chillers, or temperature‑control plant.
Full UK driving licence.
