Smartland manages 1,400+ apartment homes across the Cleveland area and is hiring a Lead Residential & Multifamily Plumbing Technician who takes pride in craftsmanship and delivering high-quality, code-compliant work.

This role offers steady, year-round work, strong operational support, and the opportunity to work across multiple apartment communities alongside experienced maintenance teams. You'll also partner with our trusted sewer cleaning company on complex drain and sewer issues.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Rotating on-call schedule for emergency repairs
• Occasional evenings/weekends for urgent situations
• Travel between multiple Cleveland-area properties

What You'll Do

• Install, repair, and service plumbing systems in residential and multifamily buildings
• Diagnose issues efficiently and deliver long-term solutions
• Work on water lines, drainage systems, fixtures, boilers, and multifamily plumbing stacks
• Respond to emergency plumbing calls when required
• Support unit turns, make-readies, and capital improvement projects
• Coordinate with our sewer cleaning partner on major blockages and sewer issues
• Perform inspections and ensure compliance with local codes, OSHA standards, and safety protocols
• Update work orders, document findings, and track progress using company systems
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

What You Bring

• 5+ years of professional plumbing experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
• Solid knowledge of local plumbing codes and OSHA guidelines
• Multifamily plumbing stack experience (preferred)
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces
• Reliable transportation, basic plumbing tools, and valid driver's license
• Professional communication skills when working in occupied units
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
• Pride in craftsmanship and commitment to doing the job right the first time
