Senior User Researcher - £450 - £500 Inside - East Kilbride - SC Clearance - 12 Month Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior User Researcher to support a major government transformation programme. You will lead high-quality user research, champion evidence-based decision-making, and ensure that products and services are genuinely user‑centred. Working as part of a Research & Analytics function, you'll collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Product Managers, Service Designers and Technical Leads. You'll help shape strategy, validate decisions, and ensure user needs are understood throughout the delivery life cycle.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, communicates confidently with senior stakeholders, and can handle multiple research streams simultaneously. Please note, active SC Clearance is required and there is a requirement to be in the office for two to three days a week in East Kilbride.

• Lead, plan and deliver user research across multiple work streams using industry‑standard methodologies.
• Analyse and synthesise findings into clear, actionable insights for service and product teams.
• Champion a user‑centred approach across multidisciplinary teams and governance forums.
• Build and maintain a structured research repository, ensuring insights are accessible and reused.
• Define and track user outcome metrics to evidence the impact of design and delivery decisions.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and technical leads to shape strategy and validate approaches.

• Strong experience delivering user research on large‑scale programmes.
• Demonstrable ability to design, conduct and lead multiple research activities.
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills; able to translate complex data into compelling insight.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, especially with senior audiences.
• Experience embedding user‑centred thinking within multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to create and maintain research repositories and insight frameworks.
• Active SC Clearance (mandatory for consideration)
