During your Industry Placement you will have the opportunity to learn more about BAE Systems, and the engineering and manufacturing work we do. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your learning from the classroom and develop technical skills in the workplace.

This 30–45 day placement will include time at our training facilities and on‑site engineering environments, gaining experience by contributing to real projects. You’ll work with apprentices and employees who will provide valuable insights into their roles and career journeys.

The placement will run between October 2026 and February 2027. Specific dates and times will be communicated if your application is successful.

To apply, you must have or be on track to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades A*–C or 9–4 (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English, and Science/Technical Subject by August 2027.

You must also be completing a T Level in Engineering and Manufacturing and be in the second year of study by the time the placements start in October 2026. All Engineering and Manufacturing pathways are accepted.

Following the Industrial Placement, you could be offered a full‑time position on one of our engineering apprenticeship schemes, starting in autumn 2027.
