Electrical Supervisor - Substations

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Electrical Supervisor - Substations on a 12 month contract based in Scotland.

We're looking for a driven Electrical Supervisor with proven experience on transmission‑level substations up to 400kV. This is a 12‑month contract delivering critical infrastructure works across Scotland. You'll lead from the front, drive safety standards, and ensure high‑quality delivery on complex HV projects.

• Supervising installation and commissioning of HV plant up to 400kV
• Overseeing transformers, GIS/AIS switch gear, busbars, CTs/VTs, protection & control systems
• Managing site teams and subcontractors to hit programme milestones
• Enforcing HSE compliance and transmission safety rules
• Reviewing RAMS, issuing permits, and leading toolbox talks
• Supporting testing, energisation, and fault‑finding activities
• Ensuring quality, accuracy, and full site documentation

• Strong track record supervising 132kV-400kV substation projects
• Solid understanding of HV plant and protection systems
• ECS/CSCS Supervisor card
• SMSTS (essential)
• AP/SAP experience (highly desirable)
• Experience on National Grid or major transmission projects preferred
• Full UK driving licence
