Location:

Easthampton, MA, USA; on-site with work required at Easthampton and Northampton campuses.

• Maintain building environment by sustaining building equipment, heating, cooling, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Work with all departments of Lathrop Community to support resident comfort, with awareness of aging population needs.
• Have basic working knowledge of related trades-crafts (plumbing, carpentry, electricity) and interior and exterior painting skills.
• Operate power tools in a safe and proper manner.
• Collaborate with other trades personnel (carpenter, electrician, plumber) and work alongside them as part of a team.
• Be able to climb, walk long distances, lift/pull/push and carry weights from 60 pounds up to and in excess of 125 pounds.
• Handle exposure to mechanical equipment in potentially dangerous situations, ladders, high elevations, dust, and job-related materials and supplies.
• Be exposed to extreme outside temperatures and sun exposure; frostbite risk.
• On-call and overtime flexibility as needed.

• 3 years of experience as a handy person or in property management, preferably in a senior living community or residence.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to our insurance company.
• Must be capable of operating power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to climb, walk long distances, and lift heavy weights as described in responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work with aging populations and provide reliable maintenance support.

Competitive compensation range: $20.00 - $22.00 hourly. Benefits include Blue Cross Medical (3 plans), Delta Dental (2 plans), VSP Vision, LTD, life insurance, 403B with match and other ancillary benefits.
