Financial Assessment Assistant – East Sussex County Council

We are recruiting Financial Assessment Assistants to join our Financial Assessment Team, working in Adult Social Care and Health Financial Services. As part of the team you will be integral to delivering best outcomes for people. Your key responsibilities include dealing with calls from service users and stakeholders, completing financial assessments, corresponding with and providing written outcomes to people and their representatives, maintaining clear records, and taking responsibility for your day‑to‑day work.

- Be confident in processing financial data and information accurately
- Identify and escalat[e] complex queries
- Use a wide range of IT systems such as Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
- Be a positive, proactive person with a “can‑do” attitude and willing to provide assistance that supports the best outcomes for people, their representatives and carers
- Desire to be part of a supportive and collaborative team
- Ability to plan and organise a varied workload, occasionally working to short deadlines.
- Ability to work under own initiative with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain accurate electronic records of all interactions.
- Ability to provide effective customer service, including providing clear and succinct advice and responding appropriately to customers’ needs.

We offer flexible hybrid working, and you will be provided with all equipment you need. You will be required to attend the Eastbourne office one day per week on a rota basis, with daily attendance at the office during the first few weeks of induction and initial training.

Salary will be pro‑rated if the position is part‑time or term‑time only.
