Registered Nurse - Woolverstone Macmillan Centre | and North NHS Foundation Trust

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join the team on the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre at Ipswich Hospital, permanent, 28.5 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to join a nurse led outpatient haemato-oncology service. You will be an enthusiastic, innovative Registered Nurse in the busy, fast paced environment of a Chemotherapy Day Unit / Outreach clinics.

Training will be provided in-house, and there will be an opportunity to complete the Guy’s Cancer Academy Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy (SACT) Online course. Experience in Oncology & Haematology is not required, but you must have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Role hours are Monday – Friday 08.00 – 18.00.

• Deliver high quality, evidence based, safe, cost effective care to all patients and families.
• Complete a recognised accredited Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy course (SACT).
• Complete the UKINS Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy passport.
• Access patients pre-SACT, carrying out a full toxicity screen and ensuring patients are safe to proceed with treatment.
• Work across clinical areas to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice, including part of a rotation to the Mobile Cancer Unit.
