Position: Mobile Clinic Driver, Star Community Health - Full Time

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Drives the Mobile Clinic to and from the designated areas complying with all motor vehicle codes and regulation.
  • Assists in maintaining the Mobile Clinic vehicle by providing minor mechanical, preventative maintenance functions.
  • Stock van with supplies from central inventory.
  • Assists in preparing the Mobile Clinic to receive patients.
  • Provides cleaning services of vehicle as directed.
  • Turns on and off all necessary equipment (autoclave, water, compressor, x-ray processor, etc.) at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Communicates daily and directly with patients, visitors, physicians, and patient care staff throughout the Mobile Clinic and the hospital.
  • Assist in patient intake by registering patients according to the guidelines of the practice, verifies patient demographics and insurance information at each visit.
  • Helps management of patient flow by: (1) Assembling appropriate paperwork for new patients, (2) Retrieving patient paperwork prior to each appointment, (3) Preparing paperwork for service reports, special instructions or information, referral forms and necessary additional consent forms for clinical staff to complete before patient dismissed, (4) Help maintain daily appointment schedule by calling for and escorting site patients to and from appointments, (5) Records weight and temperature for each patient appointment, (6) Provides outreach services as necessary for smooth operation of Mobile Dental Services, (7) Analyze problem solutions and respond appropriately to provide reasonable solutions.

    Report problem and actions to Mobile Services Coordinator, (8) Respond appropriately to patients and families that are exhibiting aggressive behavior, according to network policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled with the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with Network and Departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate:
    Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Complies with Network and Departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
  • Performs basic clerical tasks for dental program, including answering phone.
  • Acts as driver and supervises use of health vans to health fairs and parades during evenings and weekends, as assigned.
  • Must travel to other sites as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Physical And Sensory Requirements

Sit up to 8 hours per day; 4 hours at a time. Stand for up to 5 hours per day; 4 hours at a time. Frequent walking, lifting, carrying, pushing of objects weighing up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Frequent squatting, kneeling, occasional stooping/bending, crouching, and reaching above shoulder level. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation.

Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral visions.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Training And Experience

High school graduate with mechanical abilities and strong customer service skills. Some health care experience and bilingual skills preferred.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver's license required for travel to other sites.
