Sub Operator-ESTL – PA

Overview

Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service. We deliver electricity to 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers in central and southern Illinois, serving more than 1,200 communities. Ameren Illinois is a regulated electric and gas delivery company based in Collinsville, Illinois. Our service territory spans 43,700 square miles, or about three-quarters of the state.

Under indirect and intermittent supervision, and working on a shift basis in the greater East St. Louis Operating area, inspect and operate distribution substations as required, on routine schedule and on call, including automatic and manual stations; open and close switches, start, stop, load and unload the various items of equipment in accordance with standard instructions and instructions received from the distribution dispatcher’s office;

and perform similar and less skilled work as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent and satisfactory completion of the requirements of the Electrical Mechanic Apprentice Program
• One year of experience as an Electrical Mechanic or equivalent
• Be alert, observant, have legible handwriting, good eyesight and hearing, and have ordinary strength and able-bodiedness
• Must pass the Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) test [

Hourly Pay:
