Mold Maintenance Technician

The Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all routine preventative maintenance to injection molding tooling, co-coordinating repairs and maintaining detailed records of all tooling work performed.

• Perform the preventative maintenance of all EFD Injection Molding molds using written work instructions provided.
• Using the PM system, generate work assignments, plan work to be performed and obtain necessary tools, equipment and materials.
• Complete work assignments and detailed records in a timely manner. Align maintenance schedules with department priorities.
• Follow inspection and service procedures outlined in the Injection Molding Tooling preventative maintenance program.
• Co-ordinate all mold repairs that are performed by outside tooling houses and provide all needed documentation for outside repairs to the vendor. Communicate vendor lead times for the repairs to ensure priorities to the production schedules are met without conflict.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment. Ensure proper care is given to the equipment and tools.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts by monitoring the inventory and communicating when to replenish.
• Inspect all areas of the maintenance department regularly and report deficiencies, as well as suggestions, for improvement. Perform general improvements including but not limited to department cleaning, painting and other duties required as assigned by supervisor.
• Promote and contribute toward overall effort in maintaining a high standard in the operation and appearance of the Injection Molding Department and maintenance areas.
• Adhere to OSHA requirements.
• Knowledge of the safe operation and usage of electronic multimeters (amp, ohm, volt) is required.
• Knowledge of the safe operation and usage of pneumatic, electric and hand tools is required.
• Occasional off‑shift or weekend hours may be required.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 – 5 years mold maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Working knowledge of Windows based software programs.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, blueprint or schedule form.

• Ability to organize and coordinate responsibilities efficiently and to set priorities in a demanding work environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of all equipment, power and hand tools.
