Job Type: Part‑time; evening 8‑hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
Pay Range: $17.77 – $29.31 per hour

SummaryUnder the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager (Inpatient)/Program Director (Partial) and Unit Charge RN, the BHS I provides care and safety to children and adolescents as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The role involves input into the schedule and structure of the therapeutic milieu, implementation, observation and documentation of the program under RN direction, and modeling of the organization's core values:

- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment; actively engage children, monitor required observation levels, support visiting parents, supervise daily routines, intervene in disruptive situations, report incidents, complete documentation (incident reports, intakes, etc.), participate in restraint debriefings, carry out daily assignments, maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Adhere to hospital, departmental, and program policies; attend peer‑review and staff meetings; maintain current certifications in crisis management, CPR, OSHA, ERS, and safety; attend unit/hospital staff development.
- Participate in patient care planning under RN direction; support therapeutic alliance on admission, assist in the separation process, document objective observations, review and revise care plans, communicate with interdisciplinary staff, attend rounds, complete hand‑off shift reports.
- Support behavioral management; assist patients with ADLs; co‑lead community meetings, social‑skill groups, and other program groups; follow behavioral programs; organize unit activities; coordinate transportation; teach visitor and parent training; model therapeutic interactions; manage crises with least restrictive alternatives; seek supervision; perform related duties as directed.
- Baccalaureate degree in Human Services preferred; other education and experience may substitute per hiring manager discretion.
- Safety Care Certification; demonstrated ability to use de‑escalation techniques; able to remain calm and make quick decisions during crises; physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, running short distances, and performing other safe body‑positioning activities.
- Six months to one year of direct childcare work with emotionally impaired youth.
- Independent action within program policies; refer complex problems to supervisor.
- No supervisory responsibility.
Evening shift, 8 hours, includes every other weekend and holiday.
