Overview

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician IV to join our team in East Peoria, IL.

  • Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 2:30pm – 11:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
  • Rotating weekends on call hours will be scheduled to support our client.
Responsibilities
  • The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties may include mechanical repairs or installations, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g., Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal).
  • Under general supervision, demonstrates mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature.
  • Encounters diverse problems that require thorough analysis.
  • Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Able to diagnose and troubleshoot pumps, compressors, valves, fans, bearings, etc.
  • Ability to weld and fabricate.
  • Understanding of alignment tools for proper installation of pumps and motors.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical skills, including the ability to work safely with 3-phase power up to and including 480V.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School graduate or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in area of specialization.
  • Ability to work on an aerial lift or scissors lift 30ft or higher.

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position requires a valid Driver’s License.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitively during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitively for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Other Attributes
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
Compensation Details

$27.74 to $40.37
