Join our exciting and dedicated team at Vallen as a Tech Support role. In this position, you will be responsible for onsite Fastening Specialist acting as a strategic partner to the customer with the primary function of assisting the plant’s torque projects and torque tool implementation.

• Joint and application evaluation to determine the best torque tool needs for per customer standards
• Maintaining tool reporting per customer standards
• Programming of DC torque tool for applications to obtain the best Cmk/Cpk
• Program and integration of torque tooling to function with PINpoint software. Ensure tools connect to Pinpoint via Ethernet at each station. Validate communication of tool with system as required in the assembly process
• Respond to daily line calls
• Assist with day-to-day tasks within the quality department regarding torque tool performance as needed
• Fully support customer personnel in:
  • Tool not working or not responding
  • Event codes on controller
  • Programming assistance
  • Low/High torques
  • Troubleshooting applications
• Data collection from Power Focus and Power Mac controllers and provide an analysis of the findings to solve torque-related issues
• Assist customer in the installation of plant-expensed new equipment
• Provide initial programming for new equipment and check out tool readiness prior to installation

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, etc.) preferred. 1+ years of experience in procurement preferred. CPM certification preferred. Other relevant experience includes:

• Excellent customer service
• Computer skills and aptitude to learn various ERP and Inventory Management applications
• Mathematical aptitude for basic calculations
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated organizational and execution skills
• Strong proficiency with Excel and all MS-Office products
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Work environment may be not temperature controlled; may require exposure to extreme hot or cold environments
• Must be able to work in dusty conditions
• May be required to handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment

• Assigned work shifts may vary and/or rotate
• Overtime may be required; extended day, evening and weekend work may be required
• Must be able to handle and work physical inventory; may lift up to 25 lbs or greater with assistance
• Regularly stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb and balance
• Vision requirements including close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception

$32.00-$34.00 per hour
