The Division CIO is a strategic IT business partner and advisor across Resource Industries manufacturing facilities.

The CIO is accountable to provide technological solutions aligned with the business strategy and objectives. They will partner across Caterpillar to rapidly modernize manufacturing with state-of-the-art technology. They will lead a large global team of managers, individual contributors, along with matrixed leadership to COE teams providing technical services. Leader is actively involved in developing aligned business solutions, prioritizing resources, negotiating contracts, and providing guidance.

Leader is critically positioned in the organization to ensure the IT strategic and operational priorities create and protect enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivers tangible business value through technology solutions that are aligned to the business strategy and priorities.

  • Provides thought leadership to proactively solve business challenges and issues.

  • Manages operational stability, health, and availability of technology solutions.

  • Protects the business and brands across cyber, risk and compliance requirements.

  • Prioritizes resources to achieve strategic business outcomes.

The successful candidate profile includes:

  • Strategy development & execution: Experience leading, developing, socializing, and executing IT strategies and roadmaps in an extraordinarily complex environment.

  • Relationship management
    :
    Collaborating and managing partner and peer relationships to achieve business outcomes by leading through influence and direct accountability in a matrixed environment.

  • Customer-focused
    :
    Strong business and financial acumen with a “customer back” mindset.

  • Software engineering & development
    :
    Designing and building digital and technology solutions that strengthen the core business and pioneer the future with expanded offerings that grow services.

  • Data & information enablement: Unleashing the power of data insights, AI and GenAI to manage the business, improve business results and outcomes.

  • Operational support: Supporting global, large scale manufacturing operations and aftermarket business models in a matrixed support structure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL or Dallas, TX.

  • This role requires 5 days onsite.

  • Role requires 30%-40% travel.

  • Relocation is available for qualified candidates.
