Systems Engineer
As a LAN Analyst for the Caterpillar Americas team, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team on complex network projects. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills as you support a wide variety of network‑related solutions. You will also utilize your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems.
This role works with the Caterpillar LAN team to provide support for all Caterpillar locations across the Americas.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues and replace defective components as needed
- Respond as needed to support requests that relate to LAN development and support
- Provide off‑shift support for critical incidents (on‑call schedule, occasional off‑shift and weekend support)
- Work directly with business partners and vendors for infrastructure integration
- Design and implement processes and process improvements to aid in development and support
- Follow ITSM process and documentation for all changes
- Collaborate with other technical teams to plan and execute changes (firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC, etc.)
- Advise business partners regarding technical questions/issues in the LAN space
Required skills and qualifications:
- Network engineering, router, CCNA, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, troubleshooting, switches, LAN, firewall, data center
- Strong communication; ability to work with diverse groups at multiple CAT facilities
- Desirable: CCNA, automation/scripting, DNA Center, wireless knowledge, experience with medium‑to‑large companies
Experience Level: Intermediate Level.

Pay and Benefits:
$50.00‑$55.00/hr benefits may include medical, dental & vision, critical illness, accident & hospital, 401(k), life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, HSA, transportation, employee assistance program, PTO.
Workplace Type:
Fully onsite at East Peoria, IL.
