Overview

Job Summary The Emergency Room Technician provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered, Practical Nurse. Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment. ER Tech assists with transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.

Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment. ER Tech assists with transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.

• Accountable for collection of test specimens as directed according to established procedures and documents.
• Technician performs phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, transport, wound care, simple dressing and other duties as required within the Emergency Room.
• Assists customers in a friendly, prompt, caring manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.
• Be able to work as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support team objectives, assisting other team members when necessary.
• Compliant with HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Supported and promoted an environment that was conductive to quality customer service.
• Responded to every emergency situation according to hospital policy.
• Practiced flexibility by assuming the role of administrative assistant when needed.
• Properly documented all procedures as required and without error.
• Assisted nurses with patient treatments.
• Performed daily duties of vital signs, patient turns, AM care, PM care charting, and other requested tasks.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent. One Year Experience Required

Certifications required: ERT Certification preferred

BLS-CPR required

Phlebotomy Certificate preferred

EKG Certificate preferred

One year experience preferred

Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed
