Overview
Dietary Supervisor needed for skilled nursing. Oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure quality meals and regulatory compliance.
Schedule & CompensationPosition Type: Full-time
Schedule: Must be available for 6a-2p AND 12p-8p shifts, rotating weekends required
Rate Range: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour with Benefits
Responsibilities- As the Dietary Supervisor, oversee all aspects of the food service department, ensuring high-quality meals are prepared and served in compliance with safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards.
- Food Service Management: oversee meal preparation, food handling, storage, and cleanliness, ensuring procedures meet health and safety regulations.
- Menu Planning: assist in the preparation and implementation of monthly menus to meet nutritional and dietary needs of residents.
- Regulatory Compliance: ensure operations comply with all state, federal, and local regulations, including Department of Public Instruction (DPI) mandates.
- Personnel Supervision: supervise and evaluate food service staff, ensuring adherence to safety, cleanliness, and service standards.
- Kitchen Management: maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and food items; ensure compliance with health department guidelines.
- Substitute Management: arrange for substitutes and coverage when food service personnel are absent.
- Food Procurement: manage food purchasing, ensuring timely and cost-effective ordering and delivery of necessary food commodities.
- Staff Coordination: coordinate the use of kitchen facilities and equipment by staff or outside groups for events or activities.
- Training & Development: provide training and support to food service staff to maintain quality of food and service.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in food service management or a supervisory role in a healthcare or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of diets, meal planning, and large-quantity food preparation.
- Ability to perform physical work and stand for extended periods.
- Positive attitude, energy, and a strong commitment to team collaboration.
- Effective communication with staff, residents, and families.
- Must meet the requirements of the Department of Health.
