Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Part Time MRI Technologist - Outpatient NYU Imaging - East Meadow.
Responsibilities- Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment under the direction of a Radiologist to produce clinical diagnostic images and perform procedures according to established standards and practices, including patient identification, safety standards, and completion of required forms before the patient leaves the exam area.
- Accurately utilize the PACS (Picture Archival System) to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with a minimum number of exceptions.
- Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Report equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum; work with students to perform exams and conduct individual image evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare and position/immobilize patients properly; provide clear instructions regarding the procedure and ensure image quality with adherence to departmental SOPs.
- Practice safety protocols for patient and employee safety within the magnetic field; ensure MRI safety procedures are followed.
Technical Diploma; graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Strong communication (written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Radiology Program or related health field. 1–2 years MRI technologist experience or training.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary range for this role is $58.14 - $64.19 hourly. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
