-this is a hybrid role in East Longmeadow, Mass.

The Delivery Tech Lead provides technical leadership, guidance, and domain-specific expertise within their assigned experience domain. This role is responsible for technical decisions, engineering quality, and delivery outcomes across multiple capability teams within the domain. The Delivery Tech Lead ensures alignment with enterprise standards, supports system integrations related to the domain, and collaborates closely with the Product Service Owner and Program Manager.

This position exercises technical authority through expertise and influence-NOT through direct people management.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive software development experience.
  • 3+ years providing technical leadership with responsibility for delivery outcomes across multiple teams.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH

Agile

Hands on tech experience – continue developing

Minimum 3 years’ experience in senior or lead role

  • Proven ability to lead technical decision-making and guide teams through influence rather than authority.
  • Experience reviewing technical designs, resolving complex engineering issues, and making technology trade-off decisions.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, API design, integration patterns, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency with modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, Dev Ops tooling, automation, and secure development.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions..
  • Experience mentoring developers, testers, and analysts to support technical growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Familiarity with Agile or scaled delivery frameworks (e.g., SAFe).
  • Deep expertise in systems, integrations, and technologies relevant to the assigned experience domain.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, API design, integration patterns, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency with modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, Dev Ops, automation, and secure development.
  • Ability to assess technical feasibility, review complex designs, and resolve domain-level technical challenges.
  • Skilled in evaluating technical trade-offs and making technology decisions that balance speed, stability, and long-term maintainability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Direction & Domain Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for all systems, integrations, and engineering work within the assigned experience domain.
  • Make domain-level technical decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, standards, and technology strategy.
  • Define domain-specific technical standards, patterns, and quality expectations.
  • Review and approve architectural approaches and technical designs within domain boundaries.
  • Maintain the technical roadmap for the experience domain in partnership with Product and Program leadership.

Delivery Oversight

  • Ensure technical feasibility and quality of commitments during sprint and PI planning.
  • Provide technical oversight across capability teams and guide resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Make domain-specific technical recommendations related to release readiness, risk mitigation, and implementation planning.
  • Guide teams through technical impediments, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery outcomes.
  • Coordinate with peer Delivery Tech Leads on cross-domain dependencies and integration points.
  • Define and uphold code quality, testing expectations, and technical approval gates for the domain.
  • Monitor technical debt and guide teams in sustainable engineering practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards through technical review and oversight.
  • Advocate for engineering improvements, automation, and tooling that enhance delivery quality.

Team Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Mentor and guide developers, testers, and business analysts across capability teams within the domain.
  • Support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and the development of emerging technical leaders.
  • Build strong relationships with Product, Program, Data, Integrations, and Dev Ops partners to support domain needs.
  • Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, and decisions to stakeholders in a clear, structured manner.

Decision Rights Within the Domain

  • Serve as the primary technical authority for design decisions, development practices, and integration approaches within the assigned domain.
  • Approve technical designs, code quality gates, and production readiness for domain-specific work.
  • Provide technical go/no-go recommendations for releases impacting the domain.
  • Resolve domain-level technical disputes and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
