Farm Supervisor: Rearing

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Farm Supervisor:
Rearing for its Cobb operations in the Agriculture division. The position carries the TASK grade of T06 and reports to the Farm Manager. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Animal Production or equivalent and have 2 years’ experience in GP or 5 years PS management rearing birds.

• Contribute to the achievement of Rearing KPI’s on the facility
• Ensure that all houses and assets are kept in perfect operating condition throughout the cycle
• Strict adherence to standard operating procedures and biological risk control (BRC)
• Limiting and reducing all forms of wastage, through accurate management, measurement and application of consumables, feed and resources
• Oversee and guide the maintenance effort on the farm, to achieve KPI’s
• Ensure that the Company is not exposed to any form of risk or loss in the area under your direct supervision
• Submit reports, planning schedules and data analysis reports as required
• Lead, motivate and retain a dedicated, consistent and well-disciplined team of employees
