ICT Technician

Salary

R30 000 – R40 000 per month (Negotiable)

We are seeking an ICT Technician for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

• Information Technology related degree/diploma
• At least 5 years ICT technical experience
• Valid drivers license
• Problem analysis/solving and good interpersonal skills
• Understanding of the TCP‑IP Networking Stack
• Microsoft Platform:
  Server Operating Systems, Remote Desktop Protocol, Active Directory, DNS
• Linux – understanding of the platform and navigating with OpenVPN advantageous
• Mikrotik OS knowledge advantageous

• Marketing:
  • Assist BD regarding the technical specifications for tenders/proposals etc.
  • Client liaison
• Processes:
  • Responsible for maintaining the FMS computer system, including the LAN.
  • Perform backups and restores as required, and during DR tests.
  • Ensure security of the systems is maintained.
  • Maintain and reset passwords for administrative user‑IDs as required.
  • Troubleshoot routine problems that users cannot resolve on their own.
  • Perform performance monitoring of client systems and report proactively on issues.
  • Train market administrators and staff on how to resolve simple computer malfunctions and problems.
  • Keep documentation up to date and record key resolutions of all incidents and user queries.
  • Research and understand clients’ requirements.
  • Keep management and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning problems.
  • Ensure confidentiality of FMS and client privileged information.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as required by senior management from time to time.
