Position: Junior Key Accounts Manager |

Interwaste, a leader in waste management solutions across Southern Africa, is seeking a Junior Key Accounts Manager to join our team at the East London Branch to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence, Interwaste is dedicated to creating a better future by transforming waste challenges into impactful opportunities.

Role Overview

Develop a solid and trusting relationship between major key clients and the company. Understand key account needs. Implement and monitor negotiated contracts nationally and locally. Liaise with marketing and sales teams contact with industry policymakers and influencers. Contribute to company pricing and activity policy through market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities Customer Liaison
  • Liaise between customers and cross‑functional internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of our solutionsli>
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple client organizations to reach higher revenue targets.
  • Analyze industry trends and provide valuable insights and recommendations to customers.
  • Negotiate variations in price, delivery, and specifications.
  • Advise and service customers on “one stop” service provision and facilitate this process.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess satisfaction levels and present new solutions.
  • Gain a clear understanding of customer and business requirements.
  • Feed future trends back to management.
  • Understand customer objectives and industry trends to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Sales
  • Acquire new business and ad hoc work in line with sales strategies.
  • Meet sales revenue targets and performance measures monthly.
  • Report monthly revenue and activity.
  • Develop and manage a viable pipeline in line with revenue targets.
  • Assess pricing and profitability of new and existing contracts.
  • Generate all quotations on existing systems.
  • Negotiate contracts.
  • Implement annual price increases.
  • Submit tenders.
  • Renew contracts.
Communication and Feedback
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients.
  • Understand and manage client needs.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • 3–5 years of sales experience/account management.
  • 3–5 years of experience in waste management or a related industry is advantageous.
  • Tertiary education is advantageous.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Own transport and flexibility to travel.
  • Applicant must be based or willing to relocate to East London.
