Manager required for a renowned tyre shop based in Mthatha
The desired candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing staff, and driving business growth. This role requires a strong focus on operational efficiency, inventory management, sales performance, and delivering high-quality service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the tyre shop, ensuring smooth workflows and timely service delivery.
- Manage the scheduling of staff to ensure efficient coverage and a positive customer experience.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are well-maintained and operational.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and requests professionally.
- Ensure timely and accurate tyre fitting, balancing, and alignment services.
- Build strong relationships with repeat customers to encourage loyalty and referrals.
- Recruit, train, and develop shop staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and coaching for continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, motivating the team to meet sales and service targets.
- Drive sales growth by promoting tyre sales, services, and accessories to customers.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring stock is adequately maintained and new orders are placed promptly.
- Monitor tyre stock rotation, manage product displays, and maintain a tidy shop floor.
- Oversee the daily cash flow, ensuring accurate transactions and record-keeping.
- Manage expenses and work to meet or exceed financial targets for the shop.
- Prepare reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics for upper management.
- Ensure the tyre shop complies with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure staff is trained on proper safety protocols.
- Assist in developing marketing strategies to attract new customers and increase foot traffic to the shop.
- Promote special offers, discounts, and seasonal tyre services to maximize sales.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the automotive or retail industry, ideally within a tyre or auto service shop.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- In-depth knowledge of tyre products, services, and industry trends.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, sales targets, and inventory.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the automotive industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required
