Description
Job Summary The Technical Specialist supports facilities, automation, and equipment engineering efforts within a material handling and assembly environment. This role focuses on equipment design, process improvement, capital project execution, and cross functional support to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, justify, source, and implement automation and equipment solutions within a material handling environment Support team based development and design of equipment used in assembly operations Provide technical expertise related to equipment design, installation, and requirements Monitor, analyze, and improve existing processes and equipment performance Identify and troubleshoot process, electrical, and mechanical issues impacting production Create, update, and integrate mechanical drawings using AutoCAD Lead project management efforts including defining technical requirements and preparing capital justification documentation Schedule and conduct technical project reviews with leadership Create and manage schedules for capital and expense projects Manage capital and expense budgets related to automation and equipment projects Assist in defining company strategies for automation and equipment initiatives Manage contractors during equipment installations, repairs, and improvement projects Create procedures and requirements for contractor engagement Develop process flows and corporate communications to support customer or company driven changes Document requirements and scopes of work for capital projects and long term strategies Act as a role model by adhering to company core values and professional standards Maintain open, professional communication across all levels of the organization Demonstrate continuous improvement using PDCA cycles Support timely and informed decision making through effective information gathering and genba practices Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and build trust with peers and customers Support leadership with additional duties and tasks as assigned OT is available for associates.

AdditionalSkills & Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Degree in Engineering or related technical field or Equivalent related working experience
- Basic understanding of PLC systems and system controls
- Understanding of vision systems (training provided) as well as DC torque equipment and management
- Strong PC Skills (Microsoft Office Suite / AutoCAD) and Excellent communication skills

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Liberty, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
