Position: Family Aquatic Center - SLIDE OPERATOR

Assure the safety of the Aquatic Center customers in and around the facility, including water slide operations, under the supervision of Head Staff. All training provided.

  • Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in serving the public and within all aspects of the work environment
  • Primary responsibilities are safety and public relations
  • Control water slide traffic and usage
  • Operate the admissions table, verifying payment, and complete wrist banding responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe environment in and around the aquatic facility
  • Prevent unnecessary accidents by employing preventative measures
  • Enforce all facility rules and policies effectively and equally
  • Refer customer service issues to the Manager on duty
  • Attend and participate in mandatory meetings and in-service trainings
  • Provide positive, courteous, and helpful service to guests and fellow staff
  • Perform cleaning/sanitizing of restrooms and facility as well as trash removal
  • Perform facility equipment inspections
  • Complete other duties as assigned

The East Lansing Family Aquatic Center (ELFAC), located at 6400 Abbot Road, is an interactive outdoor water facility that provides a safe, family-oriented aquatic experience to patrons.

Qualifications
  • Age 16 years or older
  • Wear city-issued uniform properly while on duty
  • Attend mandatory city-provided CPR and First Aid training
  • Ability to work and communicate positively with all ages
  • Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
  • Available and willing to work various shifts 7 days a week (including weekends/holidays)
