MSU Event Custodian

Overview

MSU Event Custodian: Working in the event buildings before and after events for 32-40 hours a week with varying hours. Shifts also vary. Some examples are: 5 pm to 11 pm, 10 pm to 2 am, 1 am to 5 am, 4 pm to 10 pm, and so on. This is a limited term position from December 2025 - May 2026.

• Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator's license.
• Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required.
• Clean driving record.

• Removing Trash.
• Dusting.
• Vacuuming.
• Mopping.
• Disinfecting restrooms.
• These positions will perform cleaning and maintenance activities; understands and gives verbal or written instructions.
• Reads chemical, biological, or radioactive warning signs.
• Removes snow with a shovel or snow blower.
• Retains training information required for custodial methods, equipment, and products.
• Works with student employees and communicates and interacts with the University community.
• Serves as a liaison with the Department of Public Safety.
• Maintains product inventory.
• Makes independent decisions to accomplish acceptable cleaning standards using appropriate methods, products, and equipment.
• This position will engage in high-performing, leading-edge practices, valuing people, partners, and stewardship.
