Sim Health Care Provider - Variable Rate Position Summary (Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or on‑call position. Participants assess trainees in simulation events, complete behavior checklists, and provide judgment and feedback. Experienced candidates may work two nine‑month terms with a week break in between; after the second term they may be terminated for three months or transition to an on‑call schedule. On‑call providers may work up to 1039 hours in any twelve‑month period.

In a clinical‑like setting—either in‑person or online—this role facilitates simulation learning activities that mirror real clinical encounters. You will work with healthcare professional students, using simulation methods and equipment, giving skill feedback, leading debriefings, and assessing performance with specific tools. Work hours are variable and on an on‑call basis.

• Use task trainers and simulation manikins for clinical skills training and assessment.
• Simulate all aspects of scenarios, including team communication, clinical skills, and patient care in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
• Provide feedback and/or facilitate learner debriefings.
• Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments.
• Follow written and verbal instructions for specific learning activities.
• Maintain a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, supervisors, and peers.
• Accurately and consistently complete checklists.
• Accept ongoing feedback from simulation educators and/or center administrators.
• Complete required university and departmental trainings in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information related to cases, student behaviors, and feedback evaluations.
• Use technologies such as email, internet, and web conferencing software (e.g. Zoom).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
