Position and Shifts

Shift: 12-hour shifts available; 7:00 pm to 7:00 am or 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Position Summary

Provide comfort, safety and general supervision to residents by assisting with activities of daily living and tending to individual care needs while learning their preferences and personalities to assure a safe, clean and orderly environment.

Job Duties and Essential Functions
  • Arrive punctually at scheduled shift time and be ready to work
  • Understand, comply with and promote Resident Rights
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident health information (HIPAA)
  • Follow universal precautions and infection control, safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors and co-workers
  • Provide resident care as outlined in the resident care guide/service plan
  • Respond to call signals and alarms; attend to emergencies as required
  • Complete daily charting and documentation
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition (nutrition, vitals, skin, weight, injuries)
  • Obtain weights, vitals and conduct glucose checks as directed; report results to supervisor
  • Handle equipment, cleaners and hazardous materials safely; report incidents
  • Attend mandatory in-service meetings and continuing education opportunities
  • Display a caring, respectful and positive attitude when addressing residents, families and co-workers
Other Functions And Responsibilities
  • Capture ancillary supply costs for billable supplies
  • Clean spills and soiled areas; perform general housekeeping and laundry duties
  • Assist with kitchen and dining tasks related to resident meals
  • Participate in or lead leisure activities as planned by Life Engagement team
  • Perform other duties as required within scope of responsibility
