Responsibilities- Responsible for the processing, safety, and security of persons who have been detained in the East Lansing jail, including those arrested, awaiting trial, or awaiting transport to a correctional facility.
- Maintain effective, courteous, and professional working relationships; respond to emergencies in the jail; and operate a variety of computer programs and equipment including the LEIN terminal.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; specialized training/experience in corrections and/or law enforcement is highly desirable. Must respect the confidential nature of the job and deal effectively and objectively with others. Must pass a thorough police background investigation. Position is contingent upon passing a physical including a drug screen.

Work schedule:
Four 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift (56 hours) per two-week pay period beginning at 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
