What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Independently manage post-award administration of grants and contracts for research projects, serving as the primary point of contact for subcontracts and sponsors
  • Resolve issues related to contracts, financial reports, and accounts receivable, ensuring timely communication and compliance
  • Provide faculty with resources and act as a liaison between sponsors and principal investigators to ensure clear communication
  • Monitor research financials, including tracking payments and invoicing funding sources for accuracy and accountability
  • Identify and resolve problems in research processes, escalating complex issues with recommended solutions
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a research-related field
  • 5-8 years of related and progressively responsible experience in research administration, including pre or post-award processes
  • Completion of Essentials of Research Administration at the employer Certificate series or equivalent
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop effective solutions to complex problems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master s degree in a relevant field
  • Additional certifications from the National Council of University Administration or the Society of Research Administration
  • Completion of the employer s Financial Administrator Development Program (FADP)
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) from the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) or equivalent
