Cost Accountant - East Lansing Area

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
• Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability reports for manufactured goods.
• Manage inventory costing, valuation, and reconciliation processes.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and analyses for management decision-making.
• Conduct variance analysis, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Review and update Bills of Material (BOMs) and routings for costing accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methodologies.
• Strong understanding of Bill of Materials (BOMs), production routings, and manufacturing processes.
• CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency with advanced modules of manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle EBS).
• SQL querying skills for data extraction and analysis.
