Hollow Fan Blade Material Handler 1st Shift (onsite)
What You Will Do- Perform a wide variety of material processing tasks within an assigned area. Utilize computer to query screens to retrieve information, adjust inventories and record transactions. Work function and material type may vary by area or location.
- Follow established methods, procedures and practices to receive, store, issue and transport a variety of materials such as rough stores, finished parts, consumable inventory, tooling and gauges. Perform pick and pack, kitting and shipping operations to fulfill in-plant and outside customer requirements. Ensure all hard copy documentation is correct and entered electronically as required.
- Operate and maintain centralized cribs, mini cribs or automated dispensing equipment. Maintain adequate levels of supplies based on area needs. Provide information and fulfill special requests for approved items. Operate manual and automated storage retrieval systems.
- Perform physical inventory counts and item number verification to ensure proper material levels. Record findings and adjust the database. Operate packing and labeling equipment and follow approved packing methods to prevent damage during transport.
- Provide inside and outside material transportation services. Ensure loads are properly secured for transit. May operate various materials handling equipment including stackers, fork trucks, vans or pickups. Operate forklifts or hoists to load or unload engines from flatbed or box trucks.
- Perform functions to ship, receive, store and distribute a wide variety of materials from internal and external sources. Check shipping containers for damage and ensure related documentation is accurate and complete, with material entered into the electronic system.
- May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within the assigned area.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Knowledge of material inventory and movement systems, store keeping methods and arithmetic to process a variety of materials and accompanying paperwork.
- Forklift experience preferred.
